These are practice papers, not the original exam papers

The papers on this page are not the original question papers of the British SRC exam. They follow the same structure and cover the same subjects, so that you know exactly what to expect.

Choose a paper

Each paper has two parts: Part A with the type of call and prowords for given situations, the written Mayday, a proword question and the phonetic alphabet, and Part B with multiple-choice questions. Allow yourself 30 minutes, closed book. When you finish, the paper is checked automatically and you see what was right and what was missing.

Tips for the written paper

Learn the Mayday structure by heart. The written distress message is one of the most important parts of the paper.
Read the situation questions carefully: if you are not in distress yourself but someone else is, you do not send a DSC alert (“None”) and use “Mayday Relay”.
Medical advice is always an urgency call (Pan Pan); a life in grave and imminent danger is distress (Mayday).
In Part B the first question has two correct answers.
