The UBI (in German “UKW-Sprechfunkzeugnis für den Binnenschifffahrtsfunk”) is the VHF radio certificate for German and European inland waterways. Inland waterway radio uses ATIS identification instead of DSC and works with categories of service such as ship to ship or nautical information.
There are two ways to the UBI: the full exam, or the shorter supplementary exam if you already hold the SRC. Both use questions from the same catalogue of 130 questions and are held in German only.
